TOMSK. The Tomsk Region administration has adopted a three-year targeted social protection programme for people who plan to be connected to the gas supply network, effective from January 1, 2014. The government’s press service reported that the regional budget allocations for gas supply subsidies would exceed RUR230mn ($7mn, or €5.3mn). Subsidies are to be provided to more than 5,000 families in the form of 25,000- and 50,000-rouble certificates, which can be used to pay contractors for the installation of equipment or to repay a loan taken out for the purpose.

MOSCOW. Bank VTB has set a RUR2.1bn credit limit for Eurosib Group, one of Russia’s biggest private transport and logistics companies. Within the limit, VTB will sign general agreements with the group’s companies on providing banking guarantees for tax authorities and paying for Russian Railways’ services. Guarantees to an aggregate sum of RUR800mn will be provided until September 2014.
