| MOSCOW. Dixy Group said its consolidated sales revenue increased 23.2% to RUR116.135bn ($3.55bn, or €2.7bn) in January-August 2013.
Russia's third-largest retailer earned RUR94.241bn in the same period of last year.
In August, the group’s sales climbed 24.1% to RUR14.700bn ($450mn, or €338.2mn).
Sales at Dixy’s convenience stores increased 42.1% in August and reached RUR11.3bn ($345.9mn, or €259.95mn), mainly driven by the chain’s organic growth and helped by re-branding of ex-Victoria convenience stores into Dixy banner throughout 2012. |
| MOSCOW. State-controlled bank VTB plans to sell its holding in the Russian unit of Tele2 within the coming year, earlier than planned, VTB Bank’s chief financial officer told reporters.
Herbert Moos, Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board, said the company is listed as an asset for sale on the bank’s balance sheet, which means the asset is to be divested within a year.
VTB finalised the acquisition of Tele2 Russia in April 2013.
Moos said VTB is in talks with both Russian and foreign potential buyers of Tele2 Russia, which the lender considers to be a financial but not strategic investment. |
