KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. Amurmetall, the only steelmaker in Russia's Far East, said it has decreased steel production 30% year on year in January-June 2013 to 234,000 metric tons due to the falling demand for its products.
The plant did not produce any flat products in first half of this year, while output of steel billet plummeted 29% to 231,300 tons, and rolled steel 27% to 87,900 tons.
Due to reduced production, Amurmetall steel product sales dropped 28.9% to 241,900 tons. |
