MOSCOW. Russian state oil company Zarubezhneft said it has begun drilling at the onshore Cuban oil field Boca de Haruko east of Havana in a project to enhance crude recovery. The enhancement project at formation E1 seeks to recover oil from abandoned deposits through secondary methods. The current drill at layer E1 is the first of two four-year pilot projects; the second pilot project consists of three planned wells in layer M. The results from the E1 drill will determine the choice of technology for enhanced oil recovery in the area, Zarubezhneft said.

UFA. Bashneft-Polyus, a joint venture of Russia’s Bashneft and LUKoil, will start commercial crude extraction at the Trebs and Titov oilfields in the Nenets Autonomous Area within one month, two sources close to the project said. Recoverable reserves of the oil fields in the Russian Arctic reach 78.1mn metric tons of crude in the Trebs field and 132.8mn tons in the Titov field.
