| KALININGRAD. On August 1, Mikhail Zatsepin of the Rostec high technology corporation was appointed CEO of Kaliningrad Amber Factory.
The move was coordinated with Russia’s Finance Ministry, which is in charge of the country’s only amber producing factory. In future, the facility will be put under Rostec’s full control.
Kaliningrad Amber Factory is the only industrial amber producer in the world with an output varying from 250 metric tons to 350 tons per year.
Rostec comprises 663 defence and civil industry companies. Last year, its net profit amounted to RUR38.5bn ($1.2bn) and revenue was RUR931bn ($28bn). |
| PERM. LUKoil has begun construction of a new pipeline to transport associated petroleum gas (APG) from the Kokuyskoye field to the LUKoil Permneftegazpererabotka gas processing plant.
The pipeline will be 105 km long, with an annual capacity of 1 bcm (35.3 bcf) of gas. It is expected to go on stream in August 2014.
The pipeline is being built as part of LUKoil’s APG utilisation program. Its wholly owned subsidiary LUKoil-Perm utilised 1.143 mcm (40.35 mcf) of gas in 2012 and plans to increase APG utilisation volume in the Perm Region to 82% in 2013 and to 95% by 2015. |
